Reason I'm asking is because I hate my country, the USA. I hate to say this but I really do. Although there's some good ppl here, I'm just tired of the corrupt government, stressful lifestyle, bias and racist society, and greedy corporations. I just want to go to a country who loves hard-working, honest, and caring people regardless of what you look like and what you do in your personal life. I'm a 20 year old black male, is race an issue in Canada like in the USA? Is Canada for me?

As a Canadian, I'd have to say yes! I love it here. The kindness, inclusiveness, and laid back lifestyle here is unparalled in N. America. As a general rule we all help each other, have a fair view of politics, religion, etc.

As to the issue of racism, I'd say it really doens't exist, but that wouldn't be fair. Whereever you go it would exisat in the world, but I'd say the racism that is felt is usually community based. It's usually the largest minority group that gets the rap. (I hate to say it!) But in general Canadians are very open, understanding and accepting.

We have great healthcare and education here too. :)

I would highly recommend moving to the west coast where the weather is mild and the people are some of the most inclusive and open I've ever met.

Without getting into a debate over which country is better, I must say that Canada isn't exactly a radical change from the United States.

Canada is largely influenced by American society, culture, media, and government (take, for instance, Canada's swift acceptance of President Bush's extra daylight savings plan and the dominance of Canadian television by American programs).

Thus, while I would like to think that Canada is the world's greatest country with the world's greatest people, your move to Canada might not be as drastic a change from America as you might be hoping for.

I'm a canadian, and glad to be - race really isn't an issue like in the states, probably because we never participated in all that slavery crap... depending where you go, though there is racism against natives, I'm ashamed to say... overall canada is really good, people take care of each other, the obvious health care bit, the only real problem here is that cops are useless. Hopefully that won't be an issue, you don't need them much here anyway, lol!
Global warming's even improving the weather, haha..., hope to see you here!

I like Canada a lot better than the Corporate States of America too. Its very cold in Canada but the people are warm. I think you'd like it.

As far as those things go, yes, Canada is much better.

And no, race isnt an issue in Canada.

It does sound like Canada is for you. I've been up here for a few years already, and (except for the winter season) I love it.
If its what you really want, go for it, Canada's very open and welcoming.

LOL Did you post that question to invite abuse? Well anyway, in case you actually are serious, for you it might be. It seems to me that Canada is more tolerant in general than the US.
