Hi everyone,
Im a year11 student and have been chosen as head of the prom committee, and we had a vote for our theme for the prom and it was tied between Masquerade and Hollywood/oscar night, however we decided to go for the masquerade theme. But the thing is i have no idea where to look for some really good decorations for this theme, i have a pretty tight budget of £150 and i really want it to impress everyone! Please could you find me some good UK sites where i could buy the decor off, if you cannot find one for this theme, maybe you could find one for hollywood/ oscars night??????
All help and suggestions are greatly appreciated and i am very thankful for your time!

£150 is extreeeeeemly tight (roughly $300US). I would suggest that rather than buying from providers (which will eat up your budget quickly) you look to them for inspiration and then build your own set pieces and props, maybe enlist your school's drama department for aide (shucks, why not get them to build the set for you, or at least borrow flats and scenery they may have on hand).

Not sure what a Masquerade theme would look like, but I've linked two US prom sites that might give you some ideas.

Good luck!

well as for the masquerade...you could probably make those masks yourself...it is easy to make them. the art department could make the masks actually. ask the teacher. glitter is always fun. things that glow are just as fun. if you want to do Hollywood, you could ask the art department to make a back drop of the Hollywood sign. even if it is an after school project. ask the prom queen and king candidate to write a speech like the ones at the Oscars. people can take pics. in front of the back drop. lights from former plays would be fun too. i hope this helps.

I don't know how much about prices over there, but you can do a lot with toilet paper.
We did a prom here in the USA and we molded stuff (just using water) and made all sorts of decorations with it. We had to buy a lot, but it is cheap here.
