Everyone who answers has their own opinion. They really don't care what the asker thinks --- they answer the question that wasn't asked.....

Eastern philosophists calle ths the mu - the unasked question.

Western philosphistst call it a dilemma.

I call it "Not reading the freaking question."

For those who can't understand the language, the question is the sentence that has a question mark after it.

I know this is difficult for some of you -- I taught GED classes....

I know what you mean. In an exam situation, some people will answer a question they've prepared for, rather than the one asked. Sometimes there will only be a slight disparity between the two, and sometimes the answerer will totally miss the point altogether. The same applies here.

I often think that people have rather rigid views and aren't prepared to listen to another point of view.

Some obviously just don't read the question properly.

However, questions can be ambiguous or badly worded, but an awful lot of answers miss the point of the question. I hope I haven't!

the man off the street calls this a flaw in written as well
as verbal communication. The question asked isn't heard as
to it's meaning, nor was the answer. When you throw in body
language there is somewhat of an improvement in understanding.
You're correct -- who cares ? and what you think ? point
well taken.
