I think every citizen of the United States has a right to be involved in politics.

As far as competency goes, if they are able to perform their political duties adequately, there is no reason a performer shouldn't be involved in politics.

As long as we are American citizens, we all have the "right" to be involved in politics....I don't think just because someone has become famous that it should proclude them from a political run. We should all pursue a dream if we have it. Now if they are simply using it as a publicity stunt, then that is a different story. If they have a serious interest in politics and want to make a difference, then by all means...go for it.
