no doubt Toni was a fantastic player in his prime winning a 6th man of the year award with the Bulls. he was the type of guy who would come in off the bench and keep the offensive momentum up. he could rebound, pass the ball and shoot from 3 point range.
in saying so, i still think Dirk is the better player. and the only reason i think this is because Kukoc was never 'the man' on his team. he complimented Pippen and Jordan and fit his role well. Dirk is the focal point in his teams offence and despite that, he is coming up with a fantastic year and lookin like an MVP. Kukoc never had this opportunity to lead, and because of it, i give the nod to Dirk

I am a big Toni Kukoc fan but I would have to say Nowitzki. Kukoc was not as good as I expected him to be I don't think he liked having Jordan up in his face every time he made a wrong move and he was afraid to make those game winning or game losing shots. Nowitzki is as cool as can be making those shots. I think if Kukoc had went to another team instead of the Bulls where he was the number one player he would have been better.

Dirk, easy.
Did Kukoc earn those three rings BY HIMSELF? Was he one of the main stars on those teams? Nope. He was the 3rd option, at best. Considering options number 1 and 2 both are on the top 50 team, both surefire hall of famers and one of them is THE GREATEST PLAYER EVER, I'd say that Kukoc wasn't a critical part of the Bulls' success.
Dirk lead his team to last year's finals and he's doing it again this year. Who else is on that team that's a HOFer like Dirk? No one.

dirk changed the PF position in my opinion. how many guys can do what he can from the 4 slot? plus he changed the perception of european players...for a time everyone was looking for their own dirk nowitski in the draft (skita, pau, bargnani). kukoc was really hyped up during the 92' olympics ans was called the 'european magic johnson' and later called the 'the waiter' while on the bulls. but he was primarily a role player who phil picked to shoot a last second shot in the playoffs.
dirk by a big margin
drazen petrovic vs. toni kukoc would be a closer contest...petro was still better IMO

Dirk. He is the man for Dallas. Kukoc was a role player. If he did not show up, the Bulls still won.
