Unscrew the screws on the bottom of the laptop. Carefully lift the casing up. Depending on your computer it may not open all the way (Dells). That means you have to take the monitor off. You may no want to do that just because if you have a newer model of a dell it's really hard to take the monitor (or screen). To be honest Unscrew just about all the screws that you see from the OUTSIDE ONLY . That should get you inside the laptop. The hard drive should be now in plain veiw. Silver and in a rectangle like shape. Detach and you go to go.
This may not seem helpful. Thats only because I dont know the layout of you computer.
