i went from making 34000 to 12000 a year due to my place of employment shutting down. i paid the full amount, 500 a month while i was unemployed but have gotten to the point financially where i cant pay it, its not that i dont want too.

If you attended the last child support hearing you can ask the judge for a modification hearing. So, call the secretary of the Judge and get a court date. You'll have to pay for court costs. This is not a big brainer if you have all the necessary records, W-2, bills, rent, car payment etc. Judges do not usually have much sympathy over guys who want to lower their support-unless it puts you in a really bad financial state. I have heard of Judges telling the guys to get another job.
