ok i'm 15 going on to 16 in 4 months and my mom won't let me get my belly button pierced. so i was considering of doing it myself but i want to be safe (that means NO BAD INFECTIONS!!) so can someone please help me out with this? oh and by the way...i'm not doing this just so i can hurt myself. it hurts either way regardless if you get it professionaly done or not. the only difference is that piercing it un-professionally will most likely hurt more but whatever. please don't leave stupid answers asking me why i wanna hurt myself or some crazy ish like that. i need answers to my question...not stupid comments.

DON"T DO IT!!! Wait until you can get it done by a professional. Risk of infection, piercing too deep or not deep enough can not be ignored. Anyone on Yahoo answers who tells you how to do it should be ignored. I can't believe anyone would come on here and tell a child how to pierce themselves in any part of their body.

OK little darling- you just brought me so many memories, hah, hah.....
When I was 17 (I'm 30 now) I was the first girl in my class to get her belly pierced! Yes behind my parent's back.....
I'm defenetely not going to tell you NOT to do it just be careful.
First I placed a LOT of ice all around my belly button made sure the spot was pretty frozen (ok- very cold I meant) then I sterilized the spot with alcohol and peroxide and got one of my mom's sewing needles and cleaned that too and thought about where exactly I wanted the earring (it was a hoop) and planned the entry way and the exit way. Its important to know ahead of time where the needle will come out so that you don't have the earring either with too little skin to hold it or so much you cant put anything through the hole.
The whole time you slowly put the needle through you put ice on it. And do it slowly. When you get it through the other end wriggle the needle around and when you're sure the earring you have selected willhave room to go through, then pull out halfway the needle and through the open end put the earring in, so when its in you can feel the end of the needle that still in with the eariing, sometimes you have to wriggle it around till you find the hole. Keep putting ice. And if you have sensitive skin put a real gold or sterling silver jewelry in, don't put any cheap jewelry in. Then after a week or so you can put whatever you want in.
I first put in a bid hoop in because it was esiest to insert, then I went and changed it to whatever I was in the mood in.

Good Luck- and don't forget to clean it at least twice a day for two weeks!
-I'd love to hear from you to know how it went!!!
hah, hah...... Enjoy your new piercing!

You CAN"T d this by yourself. If requires special clamps and a CORING tool. Its not like piercing your ears yourself. This requires sterlized tools and a very special needle that is curved and CORES out a hole in your navel. You also need to be laid down completely flat, if you sit up, you'll scrunch up and make it harder. You also wont be at the right angle doing it yourself.

Please don't. Have some patience and wait until you are old enough to go do it yourself. I had mine done at 23, and they used very special tools, nothing that you could buy, and nothing you have around the house.

Besides, if your mom doens't want you to have it, she will find out. Even when done by professionals, it hurts for weeks, and your mom WILL notice that you can't sit up straight and that you can't wear tight clothes.

If you try this on your own, you are bound to get an infection, and bound to just create a bloody mess, because you won't be able to get the ring in. And you won't make a straight hole. DO NOT DO THIS.

i wouldnt but
To avoid any unnecessary bleeding and infection while body piercing, you should actually follow certain tips to remain perfect even after piercing in the most critical part of your body.
Following are some important body piercing tips:
 Clean the area to be pierced with a germicidal soap.
 Sterilize the needle, the end of the gunpoint and the jewelry before inserting any of it in your body.
 Take necessary precautions while piercing mouth, nose, tongue, cheek and lip for it has tendency to create allergies, diabetes, infections and dental problems.
 When you do the piercing, try to leave the area open into the air to promote rapid healing.
 Even if the area needs to be covered by cloth, wear loose clothing for the first few days.
 Wash your hands properly before touching the particular pierced area. Wash with antiseptic soap so that all bacteria, viruses and dirt from your hands can be removed.
 If you have an oral piercing on your lip, tongue and cheek then take extra care in keeping the area open to air. These areas need more care and the skin over here takes longer time to heal.
 If you are do piercing on your lip and tongue, make sure that you gargle with a mouthwash or an anti septic mouth wash to prevent any type of infections.
 If it’s paining too badly after the piercing, apply ice for it is one of the best medical healers. Ice can stop both bleeding and throbbing of the area.
 If you see any of the symptoms like swelling, soreness, seepage and continued fever right after the piercing, then consult doctor immediately.
i hope this helps!
GOD BLESS
♥

well, i pierced my bellybutton myself and i took a little needle (after i soaked it in rubbing alcohol) and made a small hole and then took a bigger needle (after i also soaked that in rubbing alcohol) and pushed it through that hole. Then i took a bellybutton ring and i put it in the hole. After you do it yourself you should probably go to a tattoo shop and get some sea salt spray and have the people check it if it looks bad or infected. If you don't use a bellybutton ring that is made out of surgical steel you will get it infected. It didn't hurt very much and my friend said that when she got hers professionally done it hurt alot. There is always a chance of it getting badly infected though so steralize your needle good.

OK I am sorry but I am not 100% sure of this answer but:
1.Put ice (without a towel on it) on you navel-piercing-area for 30-40 minutes. This is to numb.
2.Stick the needle through the desired area.
3.Put the navel ring through the hole quickly after step 2.
Again, check (somehow) about this procedure cuz I am not 100% sure!!!

OK first you get some rubbing alchall and a needle and a ear ring and you clean the ear ring and the needle and your belly button then you fined the spot you want it to go and you push (hard) the needle thought your bully bot ton and then move the needle in cirle motion to open the hole then you take the needle out (DO this PART FAST) and put the earing in clean 3 -2 times a day (WARNING IT HURTS ALITTLE>)

GOOD LUCK

Don't do it!!!

The risk of infection is to great...you don't want to end up in the hospital over a piercing.

Why don't you talk to your mom about her considering it a 16th birthday present?

first of all, it doesn't hurt (much). but you're too young for me to tell where to go on ebay and find the self piercing kits for about $20. so, ignore this answer, and wait till you're old enough
