why have i got a lock on my address bar when i try to enter encypted sites? I have had no trouble in the past and can't do my internet banking, or any sites that require you to login. I checked my security settings. please help. PLEASE make the answers easy as I'm a complete novice. thanks

There might be something in your settings that is blocking you from accessing HTTPS sites (secured web sites). If you are using Internet Explorer, open up settings by going to Tools, Internet Options, and there on one of the tabs there will be an option to default your settings. Do that and you'll probably be forced to restart your browser. Once you do that, it should be fine. If you aren't using Internet Explorer, just follow the similar procedure by going into the settings and returning them back to default by hitting that button. Just make sure to re-open your browser when you do this.
