Canned soup is only bad because it usually has a high level of sodium. As your pregnancy progresses, you'll be more inclined to retain water and this can have ill effects on your health and the health of your baby.

If canned things are all you can do, get the low-sodium soup instead and try to avoid any meats or pre-prepared microwaveable foods that are high in sodium (most are because they have extra preservatives in them). You're better off buying fresh fruits and vegetables and eating that for a majority of your meals if you can't fix a lot of things straight from a fridge or on a stove. Nuts are a good source of protein and don't have to be refrigerated, but again you have to watch the sodium.

I think it's good advice to get the crock pot and George Foreman grill. You and baby don't need to be eating all the fake food around these days, with all the additives, etc. You can microwave fresh veggies and make great one-dish dinners in a crock pot. Grilling on the George takes out a lot of meat fat, too. There are good microwave and crock pot recipes online -- all kinds of recipes actually.

george forman is ok for convenience, but i suggest buying a microwave steamer, they are cheap and you can steam lots of vegetables in them in just a few minutes.
You need to be eating more fresh foods rather than processed foods. PRocessed foods are full of sodium and additives which are not healhty for you or the baby. .
Fresh fruits and veggies and meats are loaded with many nutrients and vitamins that are important for the babys health and overall development. The first two trimesters are super important for this type of healthy eating because their organs are developing and the baby gets the nutrients it needs from you. So if you deprive yourself of them, you are equally depriving the baby..

no it's not bad, might not be the healthiest diet though, canned soups CAN contain lots of sodium

I know what it's like to only have the microwave to cook with, get creative, and get yourself a cheap electric skillet. there's all sorts you can do with that. I think I might be in love with mine.

crockpots and grills aren't bad ideas either, but I think the skillet might be more useful

Thats a myth. Just don't open a can and put it in the fridge half full. The lining of the can may taint food. Always put any leftovers in non-metallic containers :-)

Congrats on your new little one!

I eat canned soup all the time for lunch! Go ahead and enjoy! There's no reason to avoid canned soup, but check with your doctor if you're very worried about it.

as long as the eggs are fully cooked or heated you have nothing to worry about cream - it has to be pasturized spicy stuff - just as long as you feel comfortable eating it sounds really healthy
