If your salary increases, then the prices will have to go up to pay for it. Then it starts all over again. How much sense does that make?

Certainly, but it is much easier to raise prices on products we need that to raise salaries. Sometimes we have to make choices and our stores are starting to realize that the class of people who really keep them in business don't have as much purchase power now that jobs are moving out of the country and a lot of plants are closing down. Anytime you can buy 2-8 dollar items at J C Penney's, that tells the true story about our econonmy.

Well not for you, if you work for a salary, you signed the contract to be paid that way. Now somebody who works for an hourly wage then yes theirs goes up ever year, for a COST OF LIVING raise.
A salary is a base rate of pay for what ever amount of hours you work each week, so those weeks you don't get in a full work week, you still earn the same amount of money. which means you are paid for nothing.

Just one of the sad results of a boost in the minimum wage. Everything goes up *except* the salaries of the people who are making more than minimum wage.
