I really do think so. They have a good rotation compared to the rest of the division. Smoltz, Hudson, and James should do very well this year and even with Hampton out until May, they got Redman should do better in the NL and with a better team. The bullpen is much improved since last year. If one pitcher doens't work out, then they still have plenty of major league ready pitchers in their farm system. It is now pretty much a six inning game since they now have Raphael Soriano, Mike Gonzalez, and Bob Wickman, who are all closers.

Their offence should actually be better with Francoeur matured and their second baseman should be better than Giles last year. This is Andruw Jones' last year of his contract so look for him to be about .280, 45hr, 130rbi's so he can get a big payday in the offseason.

Not only do they make the playoffs, they win the WORLD SERIES!!! They'll get a mediocre start then pick up steam in late May. They're leading the division by 2 games at the All-Star break. Hampton comes back healthy and Huddy finds his form in July and they surge ahead as the Mets and Phils steadily slide backwards. They take out the Dodgers in 4 games and beat the defending champs Cardianls in 6. To top it off, they dominate the Yankees in 6 games and avenge the '96 loss. Mark my words, Braves win it all this year!!

Honestly, the Phillies and the Mets will control the division this year, one winning the division, the other the wildcard. Pitching is always the Braves fortay, and I believe, the Mets and Phillies have bested them. Sports Illustrated, Sporting News, Yahoo, Sport, and ESPN have all agreed with this synopsis.

honestly i don't think so, but I still am a diehard Braves fan, and I hope to every extent that they do. With a solid core of John Smoltz, Bob Wickman, Chipper and Andruw Jones, and Brian McCann, they can't do horribly tho.

They willl. They're younger guys (mainly McCann) will be more experienced, and both Joneses, Andruw and Chipper will again put up great numbers. Smoltz will pitch at a high level, like he always does, and will carry them to the playoffs.

No playoffs for them.
They've had their 15 minutes.
Time to move on.
Bye Bye.
