If it's going to be the only operating system on your computer you just need to follow the prompts.
If you will be dual booting it with another OS, you will have to create at least 5.0 GB of free space for UBUNTU. At the partion prompt you would select install on the largest free space.
Always back up your data before making changes to your computer.

For help installing it, the documentation on the same web site are good enough to get you going. There are guids and manuals and FAQs... and a user community.
