I was watching Fox News and they said that kids now days are becoming so bad because we don't punish them anymore. Fox News suggested we bring back capital punishment or let teachers carry hand guns to scare the kids into submission. I think that is a bit extreme. Your thoughts?

I think capitol punishment should be brought back into homes.. not schools. If discipline is carried out in the home, there wont be problems in school. As a nation I think we need more capitol punishment.. if you are caught stealing, you should lose a finger. You wont steal again.

Yes, I'd say that is probably a tad bit extreme. Some kids act up because they don't recieve enough attention at home, each case is individual and scaring the cr@p out of them is not going to help, it will proably make the situation worse.

Besides schools are supposed to be a safe learning environment and I don't think that I'd be feeling very safe if I had a short tempered teacher breathing down my throat carrying a gun in his/her back pocket.

Isn't capital punishment the death penalty? Lol, not that I haven't thought of it a time or two, but I think they mean corporal (physical) punishment.
No, if a teacher or administrator touched my kids, I'd lay my hands on them in return, pronto, no warning. Shazam.

Schools should allow the principal to have the wooden paddle with the holes in it to swat the kids on the @ss when they misbehave. That's the way it was when I was in school and believe me, the thought of being swatted with that thing struck fear into the kids hearts. That's the problem with kids today, they can run rampant and misbehave and there will be no consequence. If they grow up thinking there is no consequence and accountability for their actions they then turn into the future carjackers, burgulars, and criminals of tomorrow.

Let teachers carry hand guns? Sure. Then violent kids wouldn't have to steal guns and sneak them into schools. They could just use the teachers' weapons!

when I went to college, they used the "board of training". Paddling in front of the entire classification or a smack on the hand with a ruler worked wonders. It wasn't the discomfort that deterred misbehavior, it grew to become into the embarrassment. i do no longer bear in concepts numerous disruption while i grew to become into in school till the instructor left the room, of direction. i think of if the universities use suspension as punishment, they might desire to make the youngster carry out a little style of community provider on those days so as that they might learn something effective from the experience. as a exchange of detention, have them positioned on a sash that publicizes, "i'm gaining expertise of robust manners" and have them do something embarrassing like retaining the door open for all the scholars while they arrive to college in the morning for a week. yet another difficulty could be to have them write a signed, 500 be conscious essay on why it particularly is important stick to regulations and not be disruptive in school. Then carry it on the bulletin board for all to study. Grade them on it. Punishments in school could prepare little ones the thank you to get alongside extra effectual and advance existence. It does not injury definitely everybody to earnings a splash humility.

I believe you are confused...Capitol punishment is different from "corporal" punishment that in some instances should be used.....Kids are out of control for lack of a set of rules that are commonly agreed to for the reinforcement of discipline of children.....Kids are out of control and in control of their discipline becausr bleeding hearts have interferred with the sanctity of the family....Too many government agencies has control of our family business.... Butts are meant for a spanking when kids step out of line. The school system has become a social worker, cop, and psychiatrist to the misbehavior in the classroom that we see everywhere.......

If schools bring back capital punishment, I would be the first to get bent-over and spanked.
