The most likely explanation is that she's trying to sell books and keep herself in the spotlight. She's kind of the Madonna of conservative pundits.

If it were up to me she would simply disappear into obscurity where she belongs. It's time this country got back to meaningful political discourse and rejected her brand of vitriolic chest beating.

Ann Coulter is a Goddess. I've said it before and i will say it again, I think a lot of people find a little bit of sad realization in themselves in what she says and that is what upsets people, that someone knows something about them.
