My buddy just recently got a fake id. It has his picture and all on it just a different state and different birthday obviously. He went into a local Frys/Safeway type place and they wrote down some of the info and asked him to sign a sheet of paper. This has happened to a few of my buddies before. Is this just so they are not liable?

If they suspect the ID is fake they will call the police for an ID check. The police will show up and run the ID over the radio. If you get caught using one to buy alcohol it is a misdemeanor charge.

If you are over 18 then you can't be spanked for it when you get home though!

If the ID is claiming to be a govt(state)-issued ID, and is fraudulent, then whoever was issuing it was breaking the law.

If the ID is some type of store-card, then the store probably is having them sign a waiver that the ID would not be used for any legal purposes.

I think they are trying to catch you signing a different or wrong signature, cause thats how they bust people when they are not sure.

My suggestion to you is to find someone who looks like you. That is the only way to use a fake. It is so easy to spot a fake ID.

i would say thats probably so they can report him to the police. a fake id is serious stuff you can get into alot of trouble for this. usually when you go into a gas station and purchase ciggarettes or beer they run your id through a machine like a credit card and it tells weather its fake or not......you guys should turn yourselves in before your parents catch you.....LMAO

No it is just a random thing with the intent to scare underage kids from buying beer, they figure if they make a kid sign something is will scare them or something.
