I am aware that it wouldn't be a rattlesnake anymore and just a snake.

Funny. When a rattlesnake looses its rattles, it grows more just like when you clip your finger or toe nails or even your hair. Now, if the rattlesnake loses the part of the tail that the rattle is grown from, that is a different matter all together. The rattle will not regrow, like losing the end joint of your finger.

Yes, two ways: 1. By accident or wear or because of an attack by a predator 2. By evolution. Some rattlesnakes may be born without a rattle. It is a mutation that may happen from time to time.

No because then it would look like a harmless bull snake and ppl would be less afraid of it.
