yeast infections are very contagious, don't let anyone tell ya any different, i don't think it would be a good idea to have sex tonight if you just started meds today, there isn't much you can do to make it better, he would have to go to the docs to get an antibiotic if he catches it , condoms don't help either, for they can lose thier elasticy from the cream or suppositories your on for your infection. if your not on any creams most times a condom will protect him, i would pretty much get a condom on him and try it that way IF your not on creams or lotions. read the following:::::

Sexual partners who have no symptoms of a yeast infection usually do not need treatment. A partner (male or female) with symptoms should see their health care provider for evaluation and concurrent treatment. While the treatment is underway, a latex barrier during sex may prevent passing the infection to a partner. HOWEVER, if you are using yeast creams or suppositories, the ingredients may damage the latex of condoms, diaphragms and dental dams. So, using a latex barrier is not recommended with these treatments because the latex may break. To minimize the risk of passing the infection to a partner and to speed healing, it is generally recommended that you abstain from sexual activity until all of your symptoms have resolved.

Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:

Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment

Sweetie,ok..First off you need consult with a doctor for proper treatment of the infection.More than likely,if you have had one before you know the drill.Certainly, there is a reason for you thinking you have an infection.
If you started taking your medications today,no it has no cleared the infection. Therefore it is still present and can be passed to your partner.Who,can pass it back to you,if he isnt treated as well. You will be passing this infection back and forth.Just wait it out, until this infection is cleared, surely you can wait that long.
If he infact contracts the infection,he will have to go to his family doctor and recieve antibiotics to clear up the infection. You honestly, shouldnt engage in these activities while you have that type of infection. Please, get treated wait til it is cleared up,wait til he returns and have all the sexual intercourse you wish.Have a good night, and good luck hun.

You can definitely pass it to him if you just started treating it today! You should use a condom, or another "method" of having sex, or you are likely to get it passed back from him...
"it's not uncommon for a yeast-infected woman who has unprotected sex with a man to infect her lover, treat her own infection, and then get reinfected next time she has sex with him. if you think your male lover might have a yeast infection, get him some treatment, and practice safe sex at least until both of you are sure that your infections are gone".
He may have to get a prescription in order to clear it up if he gets one, so be safe!

Yes, you can, and will, pass the yeast infection to him. He will have to go to the doctor and get an oral antifungal pill like diflucan.

I say it's best to say "no" to sex right now, it's not worth the money in doctor visits and pain and suffering.

You love one another, you can wait to have sex until he comes back.

Although it is rare, you can transmit a yeast infection to your partner through sexual intercourse. If your partner begins to develop symptoms of a yeast infection, talk to a doctor about treatment options

Yes, a yeast infection can be passed on. even if you are on meds for it-the only way to not pass it is when it is completely gone. You can use a comdom, to prevent from passing it to him, also if he gets it he may not even know as most mendo not het symtoms from it like us women do.
