i have a platy and a swordtail....?

will they breed or no??

Most platies and swordtails have a miniscule of the other in them. For all the color variations, from a fish that was basically green in its naturally occurring form, a lot of genetics have come into play to make these fish.
Genetically, they are extremely similar and can produce fertile offspring. They've been the subject of genetic studies for decades. It is highly likely they will breed.

There is a good chance that they will. You might get something kool from it.
