There are two kinds of asbestos, one with barbs and one that has a hairlike form. Both are unhealthy but it is the one with the barbs that causes asbestosis. When I posted this question before I had one answer from a man who had worked in an asbestos producing industry and another person who was studying asbestos. Both were horrified at this policy! I had another person ask me my sorce and so here is more than one for you.

I have posted this in two catgories. I have one answer in the political category that is quite pressumptious. I have had asbestos removal done in an old house and spoken to specialists that say it is usually in city air. It floats in the air easily. That does not mean it is good for our health. Why add to our problems. Kids toys break down and I think fibers could be released or ingested.
