Yep. We're trying to catch terrorists, illegal immigrants, identity thieves and spy's. However, the first article was written in 1998 so it obviously didn't work to prevent the terrorists from flying airplanes into the World Trade Center.

Why is it that you've now posted at least 3 questions on her about how to access a U.S. Bank account? Perhaps you've stolen someone's account number and you are trying to drain their account?

Some banks here in San Antonio, Texas have been doing thumb prints on checks you cash I know for at least the last 10 years. They told me that was to catch people with fake IDs. If they are doing a thumb print to access your own account it is probably being done on a trail basis at some banks to work out any kinks. I have not heard of any major banks doing it yet. Just the print for cashing a check.

With the newer technology, they are having credit cards that you just put near the scanner to take the money out. Next will be the thumb print or hand scan to cash a check so you won't need a driver's license or ID. That would be checked ahead of time. It does not matter to me. The only who may gripe are the thieves and people who believed that the man on the moon was really done in a Hollywood studio.
