There was an out-of-print CD that I had been looking for for months. It normally doesn't sell for much at all (especially for being out-of-print). After months of searching, I finally found someone auctioning it on an auction site. There were quite a few bidders, though, and I ended up paying $40 (about) for it. But, when the CD came it had many scratches and smudges (it still worked, and the seller never said anything about its condition). So that was my first mistake: I should've asked for the condition. But, just one mere week later, someone else had the CD for auction in much better condition and it went for just $15 (a $25 difference). That was my second mistake: thinking I wouldn't see the CD again on the auction site. I know $25 doesn't seem like a lot for some people, but I seriously can't get over it, which is odd since I can normally get over my mistakes. I'm constantly thinking about it and yelling at myself for those two mistakes. How can I get over thinking about that?

This happend to me kinda. I bought a cook book (used) on ebay and after I bid, I found it at a local bookstore for cheaper. And it was new! It tugged at me for a bit too.
Did you leave a bad feedback for him? I hope so!
The only thing I see that you can do about it is either resell the scratched one, or chalk it up to better luck next time.
If somebody had already won that bid for the 15$ one and the only one left was the 40$ one, you would buy it anyway right?

You have buyers remorse. I buy things all the time on auction sites and what I have learned is once I've bought something no to go back and see the same items, I've done that and ended up feeling like you do now. You can never know with hard items like that, just be glad you found what you were looking for because you never know if it would come back on auction again. With time you'll feel better, and find comfort in the fact that you won't make those mistakes again.

Simply put, you live and you learn. This mistake has obviously left you feeling like a fool, like you were taken advantage of, and no one likes that. Time will heal the feelings that you are now experiencing, it's just taking longer that what you're used to, that's all. But in the end, you will be rewarded with the wisdom that will enable you not to repeat the same act again. In the meantime, understand that this happens to all of us at one time or another. You're definitely NOT a fool, you just made a bad decision. And remember, this, too, shall pass. Good luck to you.

Just do your best to think of it as a lesson learned. Everybody pays too much sometimes. Just be glad it was only $25. And look on the bright side. You ended up with something you really wanted.

My Lord I was expecting something so much worse! If you cannot forgive yourself for this, life is going to be very disappointing and hard for you. In your life you will make much bigger mistakes. Life is about learning. "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me". You'll not make this mistake again...so congradulate yourself for learning...and move on. Learning to forgive yourself is a big lesson to accomplish in life....so maybe you can learn both of these lessons with this one experience...a great thing!
