1. Iraq!
2. Good and evil. Right and wrong... These are not productive, nor realistic ways of viewing the world. Wars are horrible things driven my multiple historic, political and economic reasons. For any war in the history of humankind, there will always be people on both sides of the fence saying the other side was BAD. As for why "we" are the bad guys... a lost of "us" (like you) don't think "we" are. But a lot of "others" probably think so because the "English speaking world" is responsible for some pretty horrible things - just like everyone else. The reason why people often get quite passionate about how evil the English speaking world is, is because many in the English speaking world think they have never done anything wrong (you're a case in point). The reason you don't know of the atrocities committed by so many English speaking countries is because it's easier to see ones "side" as being the good guys. England has done horrible things (mostly in Africa and India during their colonising years), while America has over the past 50 years been doing horrible things all over the world - but in a way that makes pointing the figure more difficult. I urge you look deeper into this very important question. Good luck.

Al-Queda attacked on 9/11. The US attacked Iraq. Unrelated incidents.
But how do you define "modern history"? The past two hundred years? There are plenty of examples during the 1800s. The past century? Maybe not, at least not any large-scale war that the US has been involved in.
There is the British Invasion of Tibet (1903), US occupation of Haiti (1915), Easter Rebellion in Ireland (1916), the Anglo-Iraqi War (1941), Bay of Pigs Invasion (1961, arguable), Grenada (1983), Panama (1989), etc.
Given that there are only four primarily English-speaking countries (excluding India, which is English-speaking but not as their primary language) with any significant military force (US, Canada, Britain, Australia) -- and you specified "started by" the English-speaking country -- having at least a half-dozens examples in the past century is not nothing.

1) 9/11 never would have happened if the US had never supported Israel & never sent it's military to Saudi Arabia.
2) Iran never would have kidnapped US citizens during Carter's term if the US had never supported the dictator Shah of Iran.
3) If France had never colonized Vietnam there never would have been a communist party in Vietnam.
4) Hitler never would have come to power if it hadn't been for the grossly unfair treaty of Versailles that paralyzed Germany.
5) You are right about this one. Japan did attack the US.
I only know of one war that a English speaking started in modern history and that would be Iraq. And that one is going to haunt the US for generations.

1)I hope you will know the fact...Osama was supported by US to contain then USSR,in course of cold war..But alas, the strategy backfired...
2)Well,i gotta accept its a dastardly act,but they've been provoked by US by not allowing them to stockpile weapons(i'm not justifying it,its just that when US got a huge pile of weapons, why shouldn't others have)
3)US had been supporting Vietnam only to further its own interests..So when the people were disgruntled, they automatically turn to communists..
4)Hitler invaded Europe..But remember,it was a world war then..every other country tried to derive mileage out of it..so don't single out Hitler
5)well for Japan, its a folly they shouldn't have committed and for what its regretting even now..cuz that's what led to the one and only atomic attack in the world....
