Jake & the fat man?

Anyone know what kind of dog Jake was & was he a puppy or an old soul ?
Just trying to settle a bet!

It was an English bulldog. On the show, he was not a puppy, but his name was "Max" but in real life, it was Sebastian. William Conrad played the part of J.L.McCabe, the district attorney on Jake & the Fat Man. The show was on from1987-92.

Jake and the Fat Man was a cop show starring William
Conrad I believe. Don't think it had anything to do with dogs.

Jake was a character in the show played by Joe Penny.
