Logic says they pick Thomas with the 2nd pick. That is the problem...I said "Logic" therefore we need to rethink this for a minute. Honestly I can see the Lions picking Calvin Johnson and trying to convince Lion fans that he is the best player available therefore they had no choice but to go with him. A reason this is possible...they didnt ink Curtis when they had a chance and with Martz having the selling advantage with Curtis one has to think there is a reason they couldnt get the deal done pretty easily. Another is they could say they picked up Foster (a 1st rounder 4 years ago) so they have 2 good tackles (of course we know this isnt true but we are talking about Matt Millen). They also may think they can get Joe Staley (CMU, OL) in the 2nd round. If they keep the pick it likely ends up being Calvin Johnson (not signing Kevin Curtis makes you wonder) or Brady Quinn (they did say "we wont use our 1st pick on a QB", something often said before a team picks that person and why tip off the rest of the teams interested in him who could trade with the Raiders). I cant see them paying 1st round money to 3 Offensive Tackles (Backus and Foster both make 1st round money). Most likely is a deal with the Dolphins or Texans after the Raiders make their selection if Quinn is still on the board (may be the most exciting 15 minutes this year for Lions fans...dont miss it!) and with the 7th or 8th pick they go D-Line.

It's the Lions. What do you think they will do. Hopefully, the Raiders draft Calvin Johnson so the Lions don't use another first round draft pick on a WR. Although, if CJ does get drafted by the Raiders, the Lions will probably draft Ginn, Jarrett, Macheam, or Bowe.
LMFAO, the Lions are a disgrace to the game

I say you should stand pat and take Thomas. Rebuilding teams taking OT's high in the draft have a high success rate. It worked for Baltimore (Ogden) and St. Louis (Pace) JAX (Boselli) Philly (Tra Thomas).
I know taking an OT is not a sexy pick, but relatively speaking it's a safe pick and I think the Lions would be pretty damnn happy with him.

why would they trade with arizona, when arizona wants joe thomas just as bad as detroit does. arizonas biggest weakness is OLine. if the lions were to trade to get thomas, they have to trade with either the 3 or 4 spot and thats stupid to trade down 1 or 2 spots. if the lions dont want to take thomas, then trading down is a possibility, but i still say the lions take thomas.

This team has so many holes to fill and there are so many options with a NO. 2 pick that it is almost impossible to guess right, but a pass rusher or offensive lineman are most likely.

Joe Thomas is perfect for them at the second spot in the draft. I don't see them trading at all, at least not in the first round.
