It depends on the dog. They are pack animals. If socialized early as puppies, most dogs like having another dog around. Most breeds like having other dogs in the household, a few breeds though prefer to be the only dog. Our family is often gone at work during the day, so we have always has two dogs in our family so they can keep each other company. A neutered male/spayed female combo seems to get along best.

I think it depends on the type of dog you have. We have friends that have 2
dogs. They started out with the one and then got a little one. The big one didn't
take immediately to the little one because it would swat & tease the bigger one. Now they get along really well. A Husky is one that might not appreciate other dogs around as they think they are the 'pack leader' for the family. They choose the male member of the family and tolerate the female in the family. We have friends who had a lovely Husky and that's how I know about that. I hope that you get some good answers on this that will give you what you need to know.Good luck

It depends on the dog. Just like the personality of a human, dogs have different personalities too. Some dogs would love the company of a canine friend, while others prefer to be an only dog.

It depends on the kind of dog. Most dogs enjoy the company of other dogs, but don't need it all the time. Your dog would like a play mate, but as long as you are giving him lots of love and attention, he'll do great!

dogs love attention, so i would say, they like to be one and only. if you have had a pet for quite some time and then bring in another dog, sometimes there might be a territory problem or a jealous problem, just depends on the situation and the temperment of the dog's.
God bless you and your family.
