i never had a boyfriend.. im 18 and gay btw..i have low selfesteem coz.. im 5'6... and whenever i think of dating i feel like i get rejected so why do i even have to try..im scared of getting rejected coz most gay guy's i know are all maintained looking perfect all the time and everything..it's just i dont think ill ever have a bf? the idea of dating kinda scars me coz i might get cheated or somthing or get hurt that would be a embarresment im never gonna find love if im like this right?

you know...i have never had a BF either....but i know that some one who is great will come along and sweep me off my feet!
don't pound on yourself about not having self esteem, i am sure you are good looking, great personality and that whoever you are going to date is going to be one hell of a lucky guy...so have patience and the right guy will find you...for all you know he is trying to work up the courage to talk to you right now!

Well, to tell you the truth, this isn't just a gay thing about being nervous and fer of rejection. However, I am really open minded so I can still help you (although I am straight so you might not take it as seriously) some since relationships are relationships no matter your orientation.
First, have you ever had a bf? I am asking bc coming out of the closet is hard from what I have been told by those who are homosexual. If you haven't, I would think it would be harder at first for you. Second, think about the good things about you, what you do well, what kind of person you are. Go walk around a mall for a few hrs and you will realize, hey I have it better than a lot of people and list what you do well and remind yourself of that. Last, attitude, I will never have a bf or being scared kills your chances. Nobody wants to get to know someone who thinks that him/herself is worthless.

Be fair to yourself. SO WHAT YOU ARE 5'6? There is someone outhere who may be 5'0 and looking for love. You 2 may be compatible. You never know.....especially if you are downplaying yourself!!!!! That is a NO----NO!!! Don't worry about being hurt, you are human and you have feelings. Give yourself limits and DO NOT place yourself out there to be a FOOL for No One! Take your time and socialize with positive people. When you begin to hear people talk negative, Dismiss yourself from them. You don't need the DRAMA!! One you start meeting people, you will find someone who you can relate to. Make sure they have standards as equal, if not higher than yours. Show them that you are a respectable person. Alright I'm a lesbian 19 I've been a lesbian since I was 13.
Now my uncle whose gay is 5'7 and a bit cubby. Now I always wondered if he got bf's he told me "Hell yeah" he also wears glasses. All he does is wear nice clothes and is friendly. Just be yourself hun looks doesn't mean nothing the main thing about relationships is personality.
I understand you feel rejected and all that, but all I did to get outta my stage in that is go to lesbian clubs go out and meet people. Just get out there and meet people have conversations find out if they ever been cheated or cheated find out info you think you need to find out.

Sweetie, i think that staying at home under a blanket feeling sorry for urself wont help. Instead take the chance, dont be scared, be urself. Be happy and fun, and just go with the flow. U will have breakups etc etc, but thats normal, we all had to go thru it at one stage or another. Sweetie, just do it.

Your 18, 5-6 target the older generation for love, they wont reject you.
To some of them you will be sex on legs & cute, hey but you dont have to date any of them but it sure will boost your self esteem.
Who knows it may just be what you need, security with a guy who cares and who wants you for you.
