As long as you have windows or microsoft updates running on your PC then you should be fine. If not I would suggest downloading windows updates at:

http://update.microsoft.com

And to put an end to your worries, load up this website from microsoft so you can test your system to make sure it is updated for the new daylight savings time.

http://support.microsoft.com/gp/dst_hu1

Select your operating system, click next
Then it will give you a file to download as long as you have the latest version, and it will let you know if you are updated.

Have a good day!

If you allowed your system to install the critical updates from Microsoft for Windows XP, then yes, your time /should/ change at the proper time.

The reason that they changed the date was that it would save energy usage by making more daylight time available in the the evenings. That way businesses would not have to use as much electricity to light their buildings during business hours.

Unfortunately, all the preparations that IT people have had to do will probably wipe-out any saving for this year. It's been like a "mini-Y2K all over again".

Since you have Windows XP, just make sure you have all the recent Windows Updates. XP has an update that automatically changes the new Daylight Saving's Time settings.

As long as you're running XP with at least Service Pack 2 installed, and have Automatic Updates turned on, you won't need to do anything.

Double click on the time interior the taskbar, this could open the settings window. opt for "information superhighway Time" then place a checkmark in "immediately sync with information superhighway Time Server" click practice or okay to close window

Hey, I have asked Dell about my laptop also and they said that if you have the Vista edition that it would change it self but if you have any older versions of Windows, that you will have to do it manually. You will have to right click the time and go in and program it yourself.

I'm wondering this myself... I'm thinking if all the patches have been applied, Microsoft has handled this for us, right?

As for why? I blame W! ;)

no, you will have to adjust the time yourself. Although I here there is a patch that you can download that should fix the issue.
