I am writing a story where my character who is seventeen moves to London from Phoenix and so she is going to a new school. Usually people do approach you, but it all depends on who you are I guess. But mostly people introduce themselves and you find some friends. So I would have to say, yes. People do generally approach you.

These days, some extremely nice people may approach. Tell their experiences, sure... if the character makes relations quickly with others. I think if your character is an assertive type, they would approach, and not the other students.

We moved last year and my son was very nervous about going to a new school. He had no problem as everyone was very kind to him. This year he has even more friends then he did at his old school.
When you are the new kid you have new ideas to offer (as well as learning new ideas)
The main thing depends on the personality. If you are outgoing you will find new friends in whatever new position in life and if you are shy then it is harder.

well i personally think that it should depend on the person and where exactly is she going to school. For example if u start school in some small town and u just moved in from new york or w/e then chances r that ur gonna make new friends quicker.... but in most cases it takes time, and people will probably ignore you.....hope that helps ^_^

Depends. Some people are naturally popular and there's some people that nobody likes.

In my experience they do not. Newcomers are generally left out .
