My husband has a nasty viral infection of sorts, and is running a fever of over 102, even with Tylenol and Ibuprofen.

I'm 29 weeks pregnant, and am worried what kind of effects this will have if I get it. I've been, um, OVERLY exposed to it before he started showing symptoms.

What will the doctor do if I end up getting something like this? Thanks in advance for your answers.

Running a high fever during pregnancy is dangerous, but the good news is if you're regularly taking your prenatal vitamins you might be okay. Watch yourself for symptoms and if your temperature starts to climb try to break it. You can take regular strength Tylenol, and cool showers (not icy cold... luke warm) to help break a fever if you get one. If that doesn't work, call your doctor ASAP to see if there's anything else you can do.

So Tylenol isn't working for him? If you get it then you need to quickly take some Tylenol...and call your doctor. Also drink a lot of fluids. I don't know what your doctor will do if you get it and your fever doesn't subside. Maybe he'll prescribe you something. I really hope you don't get it! Tell your hubby to stay away! J/K.

Getting a high fever while being pregnant is not good.
Rather than ask a bunch of people who cannot answer your question, why not call your doctor and ask ?

I hope your husband feels better soon and you remain well.
Good luck.
