Blue Peter the TV prog. Who were the earliest presenters you remember? Any favourites or UN-favourites? Why?

i grew up with Simon Groom, Peter Duncan and Sarah Green and these were my favourites especially Simon cause it was lovely to follow the adventures of Goldie the dog and then when she had the pups, and who remembers all the Blue Peter "Bring and Buy " fundraisers.

I didn't really liked John Noakes much thought he was a bit of a plonk

The earliest I remember are Valerie Singleton and Christopher Trace..Those were the days when they had "Bleep and Booster" as a regular cartoon serial, I used to love that as a kid - showing my age or what!

Think my favourite has to be John Noakes - always entertaining and informative, and arguably Britain's No 1 daredevil in his time.

Also liked Peter Purves, admittedly more for being a Doctor Who companion than a Blue Peter presenter though.

I kind of lost track of the presenters in the early to mid 1980s - grew out off the programme by then I suppose, but my least favourite that I remember was Simon Groom. I found his almost continual and largely inappropriate use of the word "Tremendous" exceptionally annoying.

I rememeber Peter Purves and John Noakes Joining, Favourites were Val Singleton, John Noakes and Peter Purves (Petra and Shep). I even remember Purves as Dr Who's Assistant. Shows how old I am. I didnt really like Lesley Judd much either. She was a bit too jolly Hockey Sticks for me.

I really cant stand any modern youth TV presenter. They try too hard to be TV friendly. Its like they come out of a BBC childrens TV presenter Machine. I particularly dislike the Northern Irish Bird on Blue Peter. She makes me cringe when ever she opens her gobb.

John Noakes ,Peter Purves & Valerie Singleton and I think Lesley Judd did both Blue Peter and Magpie.
Fave Zoe Salmon LOL (she`s so hot!)
Un-Fave Anthea Turner (she`s so damed annoyingly happy)

I remember John Noakes and Shep and Peter Purves and Petra and the 2 tabby cats. I preferred to watch Magpie though.

I'm 52 and remember Valerie Singleton. Watched it all the time. Had a Blue Peter badge as well.

I don't watch it nowadays but when i were a lad it was presented by peter purves, john noakes and shep the dog.
