At least a little VB. Because MS Office macros are in VBA. You may find yourself working with a spread sheet someday. If you know a little VB it will be easier to modify a MACRO or write your own.

The end result is MACRO's make it easier to do repetive tasks. So why not learn a little programming that someday can make your life a little easier and less boring....

Yes, you should. This is a great career to follow because many companies need programmers nowadays. But you'll need to study a lot since the programmers need to know lots of technologies that change every day and also have to deal with a tight schedule for delivering a project. I think that you can try to do some courses in the area to see if you really like this and if you like you can try to something like a computer science degree to get a better job.
