International Earth Day 2007 is March 20 EST at 8:07 This is the precise moment that spring begins and is the original earth day started by John McConell (the peace activist not the Director of Intelligence) in 1969. April 22 was designated by the US as Earth Day.in 1971. The UN continues to observe the original Earth day with the ringing of the peace bell at the very moment of the March equinox.

My neighbors and I will celebrate April 22 by paritcipating in a clean up of a nearby park that was seriously damaged by hurricane Katrina. Most people have been too preoccupied with their homes to think too much about this, but it is an important part of our lives and will help restore a sense of normalcy.

On March 20 I will plant a tree to replace the one that stood in my yard preK and fly the international Earth Flag.

Earth day is April 22nd. I usually celebrate my cousin's birthday because he was lucky enough to be born on that day. You can do lots of stuff, go recycle, water plants, plant a tree, pick up trash, carpool, basically anything that is good for the earth.
