Many older songs were really on records on alternative tracks. When the records were spun backwards, the songs the needle would go to a track along side the song. It wasn't that the song was played backwards. This was done in the name of record sales. Christian leaders were buying records so they could destroy them and kids would ruin their records playing them backwards.
When the songs moved to cassettes and CDs, the stuff stopped because they couldn't put two tracks on without mashing them (the backwards track will sound like garbage on the forward track). The only way to actually do it on an MP3/CD or Cassette is to put the message at the very begining or ending of a song now.

There are songs accomplished by technique of darkish Lotus and different Psychopathic information artists/great communities which have some opposite talk. that is significant and intentional, yet no longer something 'Satanic'! some exapmles could be that on the top of darkish Lotus' 'death do not desire You', you listen some. And on the beggining of ICP's "Welcom to the Darkness', there is a few there too. Edit: JoanahsWhale- No, it became believed to face for 'Knights In devil's service'. The band claims it isn't an acronym!

Back in the times of lp records, yep, the big ones, Queens another one bites the dust, played backwards seemed to indicate one should smoke marihuana, I heard it, distorted of course, but then that is what I expected to hear because someone told that is what it said. Heavy Metal also has some crazy urban myths about that.
