Go to www.scotts.com and poke around a bit.

Then click on the link for discussion forums on the front page. There is a wealth of information there, along w/ many experts who are more than happy to help and pass along their knowledge.

The best time of year to rennovate your lawn is late summer/early fall, when you are not competing with weeds as much. I'll give you the simple steps here, but go to scotts for more details and answers to other questions.

1) Get a pump sprayer and Roundup concentrate.
2) Mix the Round up in the proper concentration, and spray the entire lawn.
3) 4 days later, hit it again. In another week, everything should be pretty much dead.
4) About ten days after the last round up application, put down your seed and a starter fertilizer. Look on the bags to see how much you'll need.
5) Keep the ground moist, but not too wet for the next two weeks. 5-10 minutes of light watering twice a day should do the trick. Then you can back of to watering once a day, or every other day.

Good luck!!
