O.K. The sharingan lets you break through gin jutsu and learn ninjutsu, genjutsu is hard to break through so it requires a lot of chakra control, and it takes a lot of time to master a ninjutsu and it takes kakashi about a second to at least copy a jutsu. He also knows the ledgendary chidori move and can summon traking/hunting shinobi dogs. There are three movies 2 of them are evalible on you tube and you can also watch the japanese/ english translation there too, the japanese are way ahead of the American version and have better voice actors so I recomend you look. If I told you EVERYTHING I know about Naruto then I would spoil everthing for you. Im a HUGE ANime/Manga nerd

Kakashi's Sharingan is significant to him both in combat and in a sentimental sense. I'm not gonna giv u a heads up on the more basic benefits of a Sharingan but just so you know Kakashi has already copied over hundreds of jutsus with it. On the other hand, in the sentimental sense, it was the last gift he received from someone who was very important in Kakashi's past. Someone who had really changed his life.

Last thing,

Most people can't really tell you everything about Kakashi's Sharingan without drastically spoiling a good story. If you want to know everything about it first hand, read the Kakashi Gaiden as well as the latest chapters in Naruto. You can easily download these for free if you sign up to Narutofan.com

It's hard to explain in one seating or in one paragraph. True enthusiasts may have access to the Naruto Manga. It explains more than the anime. The manga explains that Kakashi became a Jonin at only age 14. He was promoted when he and his team were on an A-rank mission. Coincidentally that day was Kakashi's birthday and his best friend did not get him a gift because he was jealous of Kakashi's skill. On the mission his best friend fell injured and Kakashi stopped the final blow from the assailant but suffered a critical blow to his left eye rendering it useless. His best friend's wounds were fatal and he would soon die. But before he did, he requested that their medic teammate would transplant one of his sharingan eyes to replace the injured one of Kakashi. The reason Kakashi keeps it covered is because when the eye was transplanted it was in an activated state. Now Kakashi has a always-active sharingan eye. He keeps it covered so it does not drain him of his chakra. Probably the most interesting thing about Kakashi will be unknown to mainstream Anime America: There are sub-series of Naruto that tell of the backgrounds of the more prominent ninja of the hidden leaf village. But they are all in Japanese. We may never know all there is to know about Kakashi, Gai, or even Neji. If you'd like to know more, you can go to

I hope I have shed some light on the mysterious Kakashi Hatake!

The sharingan Kakashi has messes with the minds of his foes, as seen in the fight with Barboza (I think hes called), it also reads his foes moments so he can rather mock them, or find the best way to counter a move before it even happens. But their are different Sharingans out like Ichi's, Sasukes brother, can drive you to a mental state where you believe that your being stabbed by 1000 spears for 3 days. That technique is used on Kakashi in future episodes. So theres alot of speical things about the Sharingan, and not only Kakashi could use it.

Lets just say its like Sasukes, but better :P
