None of the sport sites seem to be reporting this, yet, on wikipedia under their bios, it says that he has been suspended 22 games. Did someone jump the gun? Can anyone confirm?

I just checked NHL.com and THEY ARE NOT REPORTING THIS.

It "leaked" out earlier today on major outlets such as NBC Sports and also Fox Sports. Perhaps the NHL is gauging whether there will be widespead outrage over a mere 22 games, and is contemplating making it a more reasonable 50.

BOBBY - you appear to be the moron - none of my posts mention anything about jail. I mentioned attempted murder in jest, of course. YOU would have to be a moron to take it seriously - no one else did! He should and probably will have assault charges filed though.

They just said on Hot Stove that Colin Campbell is waiting to find out about Simon and if he has a concussion. If so that would be a migating factor and he probably won't get as big of a suspension had he not gotten hurt from the hit he received before he retaliated. So as of right now he has not been suspended.

He's been suspended for the reminder of the regular season (14 games) and the rest of the playoffs. He'll have to sit for a minimum of 25 games, so if the Islanders don't make the playoffs he won't play at the beginning of next season until he's served the rest of his suspension.

It was leaked, and that was how it was reported during the Penguins game on Fox Sports Pittsburgh. They said that there was an UNCONFIRMED report it was a 22 game suspension. I think even if that IS the suspension that he will still have to apply for reinstatement, like McSorley never did and like Bertuzzi did.
