usually ornaments, they must be placed there because they dont smash. I dont believe in ghosts so please dont even suggest that. Has anyone got any idea what could be causing this to happen.

My husband is disabled and I have to get him out of bed, that counts him out. Our son is adult but spends most of his nights at his girlfriends house. It happens VERY often and sometimes stuff gets moved around in daylight hours when there is no one home, we often get back and I have to return stuff to it's normal place.

Either someone is very forgetful before coming to bed,or you have a sleepwalker in the house. Children often turn on every light in a house when going for drink of water or using the bathroom. Children are sometimes afraid of the dark. Try leaving some nightlights on in some of the rooms. And try to remind family members to turn things off before coming to bed. Sleepwalkers are not aware of what they are doing, and turning on faucets and lights and moving things is quite common for them. Some even leave their houses. Lack of sleep can cause sleepwalking, but it can happen for a number of reasons.

I was going to say ghosts, but it could be a sleepwalker? I had a friend who walked outside and weed on the road once so you could have a partner who just moves things?

One of your houesemates is either a sleepwalker or a prankster. Could be a poltergeist or ghost, you never know, even if you don't believe in ghosts doesn't mean your residence can't have them!

Someone's sleepwalking. This used to happen in my house and the culprit was, I'm afraid, me. I was sleepwalking in the night and moving things around.
