Hello everybody

I don't understand how to configure php to work with apache. I have php5.2 installed in C:\php and apache installed in d:\apache. I downloaded the php5.2 windows installer from php.net and installed it to work with Apache. My operating system is XP. Anything I found was for Unix so it didn't help me. Apache works fine, it's just the php that displays a blank screen when I simply test it with this file saved as php:
phpinfo();
?>
What can I do?
I'll be thankful if someone can help

Respect

it was saved as ".php". The ":" was just the colon because following it I was telling you about the test.

I had to uninstall everything. And only after those I installed XAMPP, but my Apache service still didn't work because I had IIS installed, so I got rid of it.
Well my php works indeed with XAMPP.
I'm still disappointed on you because you didn't ask about my config...?!?!?!

Instead of configuring it all yourself I think you would be much better off using a packaged system like Windows Apache Mysql Php (WAMP) or Xampp

http://www.wampserver.com/en/

http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-windows.html

The make it alot easier to set up a server for testing php scripts!

EDIT: are you saying you saved the file as "php:" or ".php" the first one is wrong it must be saved as ".php" file type.

I remember that, if not wrong, I have to copy certain type of PHP file to c:\windows to make it works!

I had previously installed PHP and Apache seperately, but it really frustrating. Especially when it comes to installing Mysql.

So, if it is possible, like what other people stated above, use installation package. It really save you time and relief your headache ;)

You'll need to tell Apache PHP is there.

Use something like Xampp.

If that internet website would not artwork on your internet server and you have made specific that's saved as a .Hypertext Preprocessor document, then you certainly maximum probable don't have Hypertext Preprocessor working on despite internet hosting service you're making use of. the least complicated thank you to make certain Hypertext Preprocessor works is to make a document like so: And keep that as attempt.Hypertext Preprocessor. Then get entry to it throughout the internet and notice what happens. i'm no longer knowledgeable in yahoo's internet internet hosting yet once you may get to a command instantaneous, you additionally can style "Hypertext Preprocessor" to verify if that's put in.

In your PHP directory, there will be a file install.txt. In that file, you can get all information for installing on any Operating System.

get wampserver..........

XAMPP is the same as WAMPserver except XAMPP has Perl (Hence, the extra "P"). If you don't need Perl, stay with WAMPServer
