Goldfish will eat pretty much anything that looks like food. They love krill, brine shrimp, bloodworms, plankton, etc., which is protein/meat based, the same as a live fish. While goldfish don't necessarily eat live fish as a major source of food such as carnivorous fish do, if the tetras are small enough and resemble the protein-based food they like to eat, the goldfish very well may eat them nevertheless.

Goldfish and tetras would not be compatible. Not only will the goldfish eat them, the water temperature for neons needs to be quite a lot higher. Goldfish like cold water, in fact they will live quite nicely under ice in a frozen pond.

goldfish are non agressive, so they shouldnt eat the tetras, especially if you keep everyone well fed. Please make sure your tank is large enough, as goldfish can get quite big. a good rule of thumb with goldfish is one square foot of water surface area for every inch of goldfish length (370 cm²/cm) or one gallon of water for every inch of maximum growth.

goldfiwsh only need to be fed oce or twice a day, as much food as they can consume in 1-2 minutes. If you overfeed, they will either die or create so much waster you are doing water changes every few days.

The down side is that tetras are more tropical fish, and like warmer temps than goldfish do. You may want to consider trying to find another cold water fish that is also compatible. However if you do have your heart set on tetras, do not keep your tank higher than 77. this causes damage tot he goldfish.

Goldfish will consume enormously plenty something that sounds like meals. They love krill, brine shrimp, bloodworms, plankton, and so on., that's protein/meat based, comparable to a stay fish. on a similar time as goldfish do no longer inevitably consume stay fish as a significant source of meals including carnivorous fish do, if the tetras are sufficiently small and resemble the protein-based meals they pick to consume, the goldfish ok could consume them even with the certainty that.

Yes, they will. We were just advised when we were setting up our tank to NOT get these 2 types together. In fact, we were told that if we wanted to keep the population down on baby fish (or anything small) to get a goldfish.

If the neons will fit into their mouth they will eat them. My goldfish ate all of my zebra danios once. I used the danios to cycle the tank, then they got cycled. Goldfish are omnivours, they eat both plant and animal matter.

You shouldn't mix tropical fish with goldies. Goldies don't require live foods and I wouldn't recommend them. I'd stick with goldfish flakes.
