The check engine light has been on since a few days after the car was purchased despite numerous "repairs" by the dealer. Have also had other problems such as defective emergency brake, car not starting and more. It is presently completely out of commission, can't start it, and laser ignition key will not even turn in ignition. Dealer will not even return my calls.

I'm pretty sure that every state in the country has Lemon Laws, which protect you when someone (privately or from a dealer) sells you a car that turns out to be a lemon. Do some internet research on the laws in your state, and consult an attorney. When confronted with the possibility of a lawsuit, many times the dealership will start to take real action to fix your car, or provide you with the new one. Your lawyer will be able to help you further. Good luck!

In NC, any dealer selling a car, the car must pass inspection.
Your state may have a similiar law. Try discussing this with a lawyer, or someone who knows the dealer rules(laws), in your state.

It would be wise to purchase a car history report, this sounds like a lemon!

Don't sit on this any longer. Get to a lawyer and find out what you can do. The longer you wait the harder it is going to be to prove your case.
