that's what gerbils do!! you can't stop it. gerbils need to chew, so they're teeth won't overgrow(all rodents do this).
just make sure you ONLY put wood in there, like wooden houses, logs, and other things. they also won't chew on their water bottle as long as it has a rounded top. and they don't chew ceramic food dishes. they also LOVE cardboard tubes!! and those are safe for them :)
*The number 1 rule is, DO NOT PUT ANY PLASTIC IN THEIR CAGE!!*
They will chew that, and if they ingest it, it can't be digested. so that could lead to medical problems.
i hope i helped!!

Gerbils and some other rodents have to chew or else their teeth will grow to big for them to survive . Don't give them plastic . Give them lots of cardboard and a coconut shell for a house, they'll still chew it but it'll take longer. My gerbils have been chewing for two Generations and thay are still at it . I've had gerbils for 4 years.

Don't worry. This is what gerbils do. They need to gnaw on thinsg because their teeth never stop growing and they wear them down. Give her wood items from the pet store, cardboard tubes, you can try dog biscuits but mine don't really like them, or chew sticks. Try to stay away from plastic, on the off chance she does ingest some.

I wouldnt worry about it. Just get some chew toys from the pet store. All rodents do that. Their teeth never stop growing so chewing on things is a god thing or it will get to the point of them not being able to eat. Try emty toliet paper rolls. They LOVE those!!!!!!!!

Gerbils, as all other rodents, have teeth that constantly grow. They have to chew to keep them filed down so they can eat.
So she is doing exactly what she is supposed to do :)
You can purchase a small sterilized bone from a pet store to give her something harder to work at as well as other chewable toys offered at pet stores, like wood blocks.

All gerbils are enthusiastic gnawers.
Give him a wooden house to live in a gnaw (replace every couple of months). Also give him a cardboard something every day (box or tube).
No plastic.
