He's a subpar QB and he did cost the Bears the Superbowl. Brian Griese is way more accurate and has a higher career completion percentage. What else would you like to know?

Allright. I'm a Chicago Bears fan. Have been my whole life.
Here is the deal with Rex Grossman.
The Bears took him with the 22 overall pick in 2003. He was the fourth QB selected. They've been treating him like the greatest QB prospect of all time ever since.
He is short. That's not the biggest deal in the world, though. Drew Brees is 5'11" and he gets it done.
He has been afraid to run ever since he got hurt in 2005. This is not good for a short quarterback. He is a different player than the one they drafted. A 5'11" drop back passer is not what the Bears need.
When he's good, he's good. When he's bad, he is the worst QB in football.
The Bears are too good of a team to put up with that kind of inconsistency at QB. In today's modern NFL, the window of opportunity is 2-3 years. When you get there, you have to win it. The bears deserve better than a guy that any given Sunday will turn the ball over 4 times by himself.
I don't care if he is young and growing and has potential. He's not the right fit for this team. This team needs a steady guy like what the Bucs had in Brad Johnson when they won it.
All these things are not Rex's fault. It is the coach and the GM who insist on marching this guy out there week in and week out. For Christs sake, when Grossman was stinking it up, they refused to give him the hook, even if it's just to send a message. David Carr got the hook, even for a half. Other young quarterbacks have gotten pulled out of a game and still went on to having great careers.
Rex Grossman is just not the right fit for this team. The Superbowl was a winnable game. The bears D held the great Colts offense to 22 points. Last year is all the proof I need.

remember Grossman, this is his first full season. Also remeber when Manning's first full season, he threw 3739 yrds with 26 tds and 28 interceptions with a 71.2 QB rating(I was young and not interesting in football in his rookie season, Im guessing base off his stats he was inconsistent at times and also had some great games with TDs and no interception and also have games with no TDs and many interception)
Rex Grossman first full season: 3,193 with 23 TDs and 20 interception with 73.9 QB rating( when he has a good games he looks like an elite QB but when he plays bad he sucks)
May point if Manning bounce back off an inconstistant first full rookie season and became a Super Bowl MVP, Rex has a chance to turn a bad season and become better with experience/ Get off him, for all you people say Bears should draft a QB,they will be back with the same situation with inexperience and inconsistent QB who will make mental and inexperience mistakes. Give Rex two more years and if he doesnt improve, then you can make a move by getting a QB in the Free Agency or maybe the draft.

I think Rex Grossman has tools, but i think youre judging the guy off of one full season primarily, and that really isnt very fair. I dont know if he's the Good Grossman who seems able to throw the ball as well as anyone in league OR is he the Grossman who on days isnt capable of hitting the broad side of a barn. Give him another year to see if theres improvement, if there is, give him another year to become yer franchise, or show he is moving towards being that. I'm not a huge fan of his, i think his football intellect is not real high, but he has Tools and you dont haveta be smart to be a good QB if you have tools..... so i say let him develop.

First of all, he is not a bad player!! This guy was a Heisman finalist, and if he couldnt get the job done, he wouldnt be in the league. Without the Super Bowl, my opinion doesnt change because he led an defense orieanted team to the Super Bowl. Leave this guy alone, he's not a bad QB!

He sucks they should try getting a better quarterback even if they don't need one with such a great defense. On the Superbowl, the whole team sucked not just Grossman. Go Eagles.

I think rex showed mvp performance in some games and third string wannabe in others.Since last year was basically a rookie year for rex I think we should wait and see if he shows improvment this year.If he does improve I say keep him in the starting role if not I say start the #two guy and look for another QB for him to compet with for the starting role.

As a Packers fan, I love him. With Grossman as the Bears qb they'll never win a championship.

hes taking a lot of crap because he is a 4 year player with the experience of a rookie because of injuries. he can throw a cannon but he needs to find a bit of touch. and theyre the same opinion one or two games cant make a guys career even though most people think it should

Well first of all he has only started about 20 games his whole NFL career. He is very inconsistent. I think when he plays good and makes good decisions then he has a good game. The Saints is an example of a good game for him. i think over time he will get better
