*the apt. owner says i cant use satellite dish tv on his so beautiful apartment's roof and doesnt budge from his refusal.
i havecomcast but it doesnt support sony.
Guys, I am a student so neither can i afford a $199 dish tv package nor can i afford to lose the cricket world cup..any creative ideas??

If you can see south out the window you can put a dish inside. The signal will travel through a window. The cheapest way to get it is through a old direct tv or dish network dish usually found in the trash on the side of the road. Then you need a receiver. Look for a Twinhan DVB-S card (1020a, 102g, 1027, 1030)on ebay usually about 70 bucks if you are on a laptop get the twinhan usb starbox. Make sure ou don't get the DVB-T card it won't work. Install the card and drivers. You don't need the program that came with the card. Next go to www.rom10x.com or www.f2atv.com and setup an account go to the forums and look in the dvb cards section for a guide on how to set it up.

Actually, do what I did - get a decent video card with an S-Video output and hook up to the TV. As long as you have broadband, the quality is at par with satellite.

Why don't you pool with 4-5 other guys and watch together or better even tape all games on VCR.

go to setindia.com it is very good site then click on set max and see daily highlits or go to jiyocricket.com or go to wwitv.com choose english an on left side choose india from the list of countries and then choose doordarshan and if u have windows media player10 it will definately work
