I don't think there is a "best way"... I mean, people can easily get offended when you tell them so. However, depends on the situation, but usually it comes from yourself. If you just don't feel like stopping, then don't...

I would just state the matter in a factual way and explain what or how it bothers you and tell them you want it to stop. Be direct, Be truthful.
