and you put in the washer and step away, do you think secret spy ninjas that work for the sock companies come in and steal your socks as their secret marketing strategy? It makes you buy more socks right? Think about it. If you always had matched socks, how often would you REALLY need to buy socks? It would put the sock companies out of buisiness. Hmm..I think I might be onto something!

I meant this as once you put them in, you never get the same amount out, thus reducing your sock inventory with every wash..lol.

:) is the sock ninja's similar to the underwear knomes? lol
Anyhow, I think its a cute and funny theory.
I know that a lot of machines have a small gap to allow room for an imbalanced load of clothing, sometimes socks can get trapped in there.
What I do is make sure all my laundry is done 100% before I even begin to fold my socks.
I also check under the bed, under the sheets, check my shoes. Because after a long day at work, sometimes I just kick off my socks and I really don't care where they land.
Socks are cheap enough anyways. So if you lose one every now and then, they are easy enough to replace.

That is a good theory but actually it's the washer and dryer demons working together that do it. They have conspired for years just to drive people crazy and keep them wondering.
Now with your theory, I wouldn't be surprised if the did work hand in hand with the sock companies.

I wouldn't put it past the sock companies... haha. When I lose a sock, I just wear them mismatched.
