Well, I have a knack of making the creamiest, tastiest mashed potatoes around! I cut the potatoes up into little squares ~ boil till soft, drain, mash a little then add butter, salt and a sprinkle of black pepper and chicken stock~ Then I mash them again, adding a touch of cream to them during the final mash,....(that's if you wanted the 'know how'!)...lol!

CREAMY Rocks!!!!! :)

My homemade mashed potatoes are potatoes that have gone thru a ricer. So they are not lumpy. The instant flakes usually come out creamy.

depends on the kind of potato I choose to use at the time.
I never use russet potatoes, because they are too starchy and too watery... If I use white potatoes, I like them to be lumpy, but creamy.. If I use red potatoes, i like to keep the skin on, but make them nice and creamy..
If I use baby whites, I make them creamy all the way, no lumps no skins. But it all depends on my mood and what other foods are accompanying it.

Smooth and creamy - don't add butter or margarine until you have all the lumps out.

Love them lumps. I even make my instant potatoes with lumps. I boil a small one, barely smash it, and stir it in. Good stuff.
