I'm 24 and have a bachelors degree is psychology. I'm not finding any jobs in my field so I'm thinking of switching to nursing. I've already been in college for 5 years and my husband's patience is wearing thin because he's been supporting us while I've been in college and now I can't find a good job. I was going to get my MSW but I'm afraid I won't find good jobs in social work either.
If I become an RN I will pretty much be guaranteed a job and could eventually work as a psychiatric nurse.
What program would be quickest for me to become a RN? My undergrad GPA is a 3.5

You can do an Associates Degree that would take about 2 years and you would still get your R.N. Then after you start working you can go back part-time to finish your degree.

As the others said, it will take about 3-4 years to become an RN. You might want to try an accelerated program. You can usually find a program that will get you an Associates in 18 months or less. The source link has a bunch of schools listed that you can check out.

You could go to a technical school and get an associate's degree in nursing, which takes two or three years. But since you already have your general classes done it would be quicker for you.
