How do women in patrilineal societies (male-dominant societies) get some "say" and power?

All I can say here is one never knows what goes on behind closed doors. What is out in the real world is not what goes on in the private life of those individuals. On the most part had I cared for more power in the outside world I'd use the power of sex and keeping my body in top shape, yet I did that I would be back to square one (in patrilineal societies they believe the woman is good for one thing and one thing only) I therefore must refer to my wits, appeal to them in a newer fashion, prove to them my worth in the boardroom as opposed to the bedroom. It will take careful planning; with patience I believe I can do it. Any woman can.

It has only been in the last 30 to 40 years that women in this society got 'say'. So it won't be hard to find that information. I am going to be 50 years old this year. I was in 7th grade when the school decided that girls were allowed to wear pants to school. Do you see what I mean? Not long ago. Within my lifetime. I think girls today have no idea what was done by the 'bra burning' feminist movement to get what we have now. Maybe that's good. Now girls are raised with the idea that they are entitled. I had to completely change my thinking. And so did the rest of society. Hope we don't backslide.

Purely by using their wit and intellect. I think that if a woman wants to get ahead, they need to do their research in what ever area they are trying to conquer and go to it full force!.
Any of my success has been attained through that of hard work and perseverance. I have been put to the test against many men for many jobs and never got a job to "meet a quota" or because I cried about it.
I always earned the respect of my male superiors and always found it helpful to look at things from a business "not personal" perspective... It worked for me

Stay in the home and raise the children and take care of the home. Unless they want to be a teacher for the girls or a lady doctor for the girls and women.

In most socities women raise both the male and female children. I think that is a HUGE say.

By having confidence and not being afraid to speak their minds. Plus, some women do use their sexual appeal to gain power and the attention of men. Plus, being smart enough to know when to speak up, when to back down, when to try and gain control. But in my expereince if you speak up and are confident in what you are saying/doing you can easily obtain power.
