You need to wait until after your 6 week check up at least. The doctor will at that time tell you if it is safe to have sex.
It is too early now to start having sex again. Your body is not healed and it can be dangerous

You didn't say whether you had a c-section or a vaginal delivery, so this assumes a natural birth.

The standard advice for a normal vaginal delivery is to wait 6 weeks, this is to allow your body to heal properly, and for the post partum bleeding to finish. Allowing the cervix to close again properly also minimises the risk of infection.

However, this is only a guideline, if you are feeling okay, are not in any pain, and actually feel like it (and it's got to be said, with what your body has just been through and the demands of a newborn, a lot of women really aren't too interested - a cuddle every now and then will do, it's ok to feel this way) then it is okay. Let your body be your guide.

It may hurt or feel different, so take it slow. After a vaginal delivery there will be decreased muscle tone which can have an impact on your level of arousal - doing your kegal exercises will help with this if its an issue for you. If it is too painful soon after giving birth, just stop, and try again later. If sex continues to hurt then visit your doctor and seek advice about whether you may need additional treatment .

If you're anxious about it or just plain don't want to then don't, there's no requirement, perhaps you and your partner could find other ways to be intimate without actually having intercourse. Some women also struggle with their body image after birth, if they have put on weight, or their belly that was once firm and flat may feel floppy and soft. This is normal - just be realistic about what you have been through and don't put any expectations on yourself.

One of the best ways to get your groove back after childbirth is to rest when you can, eat well, and try and enjoy the ride.

you certainly need to attend the finished 6 weeks after childbirth especially after surgical technique yet considering which you have performed it already except you notice blood or experience strange, you're in all probability ok. After surgical technique there are super probabilities of an infection and the penis can unfold an infection unquestionably regardless of if that's not very sparkling. If I have been you i could wait some extra weeks to be risk-free. (especially in case you have had uterus problems that mandatory surgical technique!) good success!

The rule, 6 weeks... I'd definitely wait that long especially if you tore or got cut. Because I tore, and by the time my 6 week check up came along, I still wasn't completely healed and if I would have had sex before I went to the doctor it would have hurt soooooo bad!!!!

I've read you can get EASILY pregnant 6 weeks after giving birth. I'd wait 7-8 weeks.

I would wait until you're doctor clears you to resume sex. Even though you might think you feel like it, you're still healing and you need that time so you can do so properly.
